Mitchell Coombs & Alright Hey ink deal with Spotify for Trash Alley podcast

Former Editor & Content Director

Spotify has another original title in its stable, recruiting internet sensations Alright Hey! and Mitchell Coombs for a weekly podcast.

Trash Alley will be released weekly on Wednesday mornings, and Spotify said it will be like overhearing conversations between chatty friends.

“Launched [on Wednesday], Trash Alley will explore the sort of water cooler (maybe in this case, beer keg turned stool) topics you’d expect to overhear between two chatty birds when they bump into each other on a night out. The chatty birds in question? Alright Hey! and Mitchell Coombs are here to ask: What TV shows are hot right now? What music is on our On Repeat playlist? What TikTok videos have you watched 100 times?”

Coombs is a former digital/ video producer of The Kyle & Jackie O Show, and also hosts the Is It Just Me? podcast alongside Mitch Churi in partnership with ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network.

Spotify’s bio of him said he was a viral comedian who “has a dry wit and takes no shit”.

Alright Hey!, meanwhile, is “loud, proud and opinionated” and “loves a gossip over cocktails”.

He’s become popular across the likes of Instagram and TikTok, mixing humour and important social messages.
