A project or contract position
Fully remote: working with a USA-based team at American Public Media.

APM Studios is hiring a project-based contract Producer or Associate Producer (based on experience level) for 7-8 months to work on a new history-related podcast for children (and their parents). We’re looking for someone who can work well on a small team, is extremely self-motivated, has good ideas and isn’t afraid to share them, and loves audio storytelling, and thinks about it in an interesting way. The role works to research, edit and write scripts, including fact-checking and editing scripts for accuracy. This role serves as a key conduit between historians and the show team. It assists in the production of the show, including working with young (typically under the age of 12) guest co-hosts for the show, as well as recruiting guest co-hosts and tracking release forms. They will also help develop new show segments and create the sound and style for these segments. They will edit audio, create web assets and help with social media as necessary. Throughout all of that, they ensure that all relationships and activities maintain the standards of trust and responsibility that audiences have for the shows from the APM kids vertical. This position is part of a cross-functional team, so teamwork and collaboration are a must.
