A full time Production Coordinator position at Transmitter Media, Brooklyn NY, USA
Salary range: $70,000 to $75,000 (yearly rate) - subject to experience
Transmitter Media is a Peabody-nominated creative podcast company. Our podcasts have reached many millions of listeners worldwide, are often included on “best-of” lists, and have received honors and awards from the Webbys to the Gracies. Our goal is to do work that is creative, intentional and inclusive.
We produce podcasts in a range of styles, from serialized narratives to investigative journalism, branded series to talk shows. Our recent work includes Body Stuff w/ Dr. Jen Gunter and WorkLife with Adam Grant, and a range of new shows such as Close to Death, Am I Normal? as well as Meltdown, a collaboration with Audible and Jigsaw Productions. We are also currently building out our slate of original shows, which includes Rebel Eaters Club.
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team. This is not a creative production role. The Project Manager will be the main point of contact for an ongoing series of projects in regular release, with several moving parts. They will serve as the central nervous system for a small team of Transmitter producers, ensuring a clear line of communication between internal and external parties and that the production process is clear, achievable and on time.
Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for managing “traffic” related to several ongoing podcast projects.
- Be the main point of contact for both internal teams and external partners.
- Own and run project timelines and creative deliverables, and ensure project scope is being honored.
- Bring a solutions-oriented perspective when faced with project hiccups or delays.
- Plan, lead, and record weekly meetings with internal teams and external partners.
- Create processes, and work with project management software as needed.
- Serve as a clear communication hub and manage the creative workflow with both external and internal teams.
- Support the creative team with clear understanding of assets and workflow.
- Assisting with production logistics such as booking studios, tape syncers, coordinate shipping of remote equipment.
- Liaising with external partners on behalf of Transmitter, working to create a collegial relationship amongst the various members of a production team.
- Possible coordination of additional personnel, such as contractors or freelancers involved with the production.
Qualifications:
- An experienced project manager, especially for creative projects (ie: podcast, film, tv, digital media, publishing).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Extremely detail-oriented and organized and a team player.
- Strong relationship management, organizational and project management skills.
- Able to work effectively with a variety of internal teams and external partners.
- Familiarity with communication, organization and project management tools: Airtable, Slack, Google Drive, Basecamp, Monday or similar, Zoom, etc.
- Passionate about storytelling, in any medium (but you do not need a podcast background).
- You love spreadsheets and checking off items in a to-do list.
- Bonus if you also have some familiarity with website maintenance (ie: Squarespace) and social media tools.
The Details:
This is a full-time position, New York-based, with a full benefits package including medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k with matching, and an annual discretionary bonus. Salary range: $70-75k/year.
