Public media organization PRX today announced two new members of its resource development division: Melissa Srbinovich will serve as Senior Director of Institutional Fundraising and Brian Teague as Director of Prospect Research. In addition, Gina James serves as Vice President of Strategic Impact, a newly-created role.

PRX’s Resource Development team is a liaison to all sources of philanthropy and fundraising, including the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the MacArthur Foundation, the Ford Foundation, the Barr Foundation, and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, as well as individual supporters of PRX’s podcast and radio programming, training programs, and audio community initiatives.

As VP of Strategic Impact, Gina James serves as a collaborative partner to PRX’s leadership team to advance the organization’s strategic vision across departments, aligning its impact with mission-aligned funding opportunities. As part of this work, James oversees the PRX Podcast Garage team which supports local creator communities through training, workshops, and events in both Boston and San Francisco. Previously Senior Director of Development and Operations at PRX, James’ tenure at the organization spans more than six years.

As Senior Director of Institutional fundraising at PRX, Melissa Srbinovich will lead efforts to identify, secure, and steward annual gifts from national and regional foundations as well as federal government agencies in support of PRX programming and efforts across areas of audio field building, impactful storytelling, and industry leadership. Srbinovich arrives at PRX after serving as Director of Institutional Giving at the Sundance Institute, the iconic nonprofit organization championing independent stories for the screen and stage. Srbinovich has also held institutional funding positions at organizations at the intersection of storytelling, expression, and community, including the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), New York University, and Lincoln Center. As a student at the University of Michigan, Srbinovich was Program Director for the freeform radio station WCBN in Ann Arbor.

Brian Teague serves as Director of Prospect Research at PRX, where he will plan, implement, and manage a comprehensive research and prospect management program. Cultivating a robust donor pipeline, Teague will identify potential donors and opportunities for major gifts while supporting engagement with institutional and family foundations aligned with PRX’s mission. Previously, Teague held the Manager of Development, Prospect Research and Strategy position at the Greater Boston Food Bank, the largest hunger-relief organization in New England. Teague has also served as a member of the Young Leaders Council for Fenway Health and as a member of the Young Professionals Advocates Steering Committee at Bay Cove Human Services, organizations empowering individuals through compassion and advocacy.

James, Srbinovich, and Teague report to Janetta Stringfellow, Chief Development Officer at PRX.

“PRX is committed to strengthening public radio and podcasting across areas of content, training, and technology,” said Stringfellow. “Our strength is in the hands of our supporters, and I’m proud of our team for facilitating and creating a sustainable future. Congratulations to Gina on her critical new position, and we’re thrilled to welcome Melissa and Brian to the organization as they bring deep experience and generous spirit to their roles. I’m excited for what we’ll all accomplish together.”

“I’m excited to continue to help broaden the possibilities of media in the public interest and to champion community storytelling as a way to inspire change,” said James. “So many perspectives are missing from the dominant media culture. I’m eager to continue collaborating alongside the team at PRX and our partners as we leverage our collective resources to amplify essential voices and issues.”

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to join an organization that shares my belief in the power of storytelling to build empathy, enact change, and create new ways of understanding the world we live in,” said Srbinovich. “PRX is one of the most adaptive, exciting organizations supporting independent storytellers today. I look forward to working with the team as we continue to innovate on behalf of audio creators.”

“PRX’s aim to empower storytellers and journalists resonates with me, and this is a great team,” said Teague. “I’m excited to join an organization at the forefront of audio and to help advance the mission.”
