About the Role:

The New Statesman Media Group is looking for an Assistant Producer to work on our expanding slate of podcasts and audio products. Reporting to the Podcast Producer, the successful candidate will be involved at all stages of podcast production from conception to delivery, and will be an important part of a growing team at an exciting time of digital expansion.

General Responsibilities:

Assist with podcast planning and production including ideas generation, guest booking and technical set up Record podcasts both in person and remotely Edit podcasts using Adobe Audition Prepare podcasts for publishing and work with Publishing Assistant to ensure timely delivery across multiple platforms Write engaging copy, headlines and social sells for podcast show notes and articles Assist with scripting, planning and production on more ambitious podcast projects including documentary features

Skills & Experience:

At least 2 years’ experience working on podcasts for a reputable news publisher or production house Experience in journalism with a working knowledge of UK media law Technical skills: experience using professional recording equipment and understanding of how to capture great audio Highly skilled user of Adobe Audition and other audio editing software Experience with other Adobe software (Photoshop, Premier, After Effects, etc.) desirable Excellent written and spoken communication skills

A creative audio creator with a showreel demonstrating a range of high quality work Highly organised, able to handle multiple concurrent projects and deliver to deadlines Enthusiastic about podcasts and video content An interest in politics, global affairs, economics and the ideas that shape our world Ambitious and entrepreneurial, keen to help grow our audience and develop the AV output Enthusiastic, curious and open-minded Interested?
