Gastropod Joins Eater

We’re thrilled to announce Gastropod, the award-winning podcast exploring food topics through the lens of history and science, is joining Eater as a partner on August 3.

Launched in 2014 and hosted by journalists Cynthia Graber and Nicola Twilley, Gastropod offers unparalleled, enterprising journalism, in-depth reporting, production value, and storytelling. Each episode uncovers the hidden stories and surprising science behind a different food or farming-related topic: from aquaculture to ancient feasts, cutlery to chile peppers, and microbes to Malbec. We are especially fond of the episodes on restaurant and bar culture, including explorations of tiki, Thai cuisine, McDonald’s, and hangovers.

Graber and Twilley will continue to own and produce the podcast independently, and the Vox Media Podcast Network will take on responsibility for its sales, marketing, and distribution. The Eater team will work with the hosts and founders on editorial collaborations and extensions.
