Junior Insights & Analytics Analyst - Podcasting
A full time position at Sony Music, London, UK
Sony Music and Somethin’ Else are hiring for a new role in Insight and Analytics as the UK support for the Global Podcasting Division. This exciting new position will blend methodologies across both Insight and Analytics to have a direct and meaningful impact on the creation, development, strategy, and distribution of the roster of podcasts at Sony Music.
What you'll do:
- Weekly Performance Reporting: Provide the Global team with a weekly performance report on UK titles, working together with our global podcasting team to ensure reporting consistencies.
- Podcasting Trend Updates: Providing Insight on UK Podcast Platform usage & helping the team keep an eye on the UK Podcast landscape e.g. new platforms, industry news, and genre trends.
- Show Concept Testing: Using survey-based research to understand potential appeal of different Podcast ideas among a representative target audience, select priorities to focus on and understand demographic appeal.
- Audience profiling: Providing research into the existing audience of a podcast, its host or target audience to inform marketing ideas, creative execution, partnerships and guest / theme selection
- Advertising Insights: Using audience data to aid Podcast Sales conversations with brands.
- Campaign/ Content Analysis: Providing campaign reports on all UK Podcasts based on download and marketing data to help us identify key marketing successes, further opportunities and to assess marketing effictiveness.
- Listener surveys: Creating listener surveys to understand how they listen, assess likes and dislikes and ad performance, and input into development of upcoming seasons
Who you are:
- 2-3 year’s worth of experience in either and Insight or Analytics function (a blend of both will be an advantage)
- Passionate and curious about Audiences and Trends, particularly in the Entertainment Industry.
- Passion for podcasts / audio-led entertainment.
- Experience with survey-led methodologies and analysis.
- Experience with trend reporting.
- Strong data analysis abilities (e.g. Advanced Excel, Pivot Tables, Cross-tab software)
- Experience with data-tools such as VLooker or Tableau
- Strong story-telling skills, rooted in the ability to draw and communicate insights from multiple data points
- Understanding or experience with the Podcasting Industry is a plus.
