Job Description CNE is looking for a talented, ambitious executive to help us build important, successful, and influential podcasts for our global audience. You should be an experienced audio journalist, an omnivorous podcast consumer, and a leader who can work closely with the best writers and editors in the world to develop compelling programming for large audiences, content that will embody the intelligence and sophistication of our legendary brands. You should have excellent interpersonal skills and editorial judgment, an extended network of talent and production contacts, superb taste, and an appetite for risk.

Reporting to the SVP, Head of Global Audio, you will collaborate closely with editorial leadership across Conde Nast, leading strategic planning, piloting new projects, and eventually managing a diverse network of shows and people.

Responsibilities include:

Leading new series development and creating a long term podcast development pipeline

Managing production and providing editorial direction to talent and staff

Identifying and recruiting talent, including hosts and production staff

Designing and implementing production processes to increase our production quality, efficiency and nimbleness

Closely managing production budgets

Hiring skilled, experienced production partners and working closely with them to create great, superbly-crafted shows

Collaborating with our product leadership to find new ways to share the shows we make with larger audiences

Requirements include:

10+ years of experience in audio, audio journalism preferred

5+ years of experience in a leadership role, building and managing teams

Demonstrated ability to develop new show concepts and ideas, and create a pipeline of opportunities, ideas and talent

Excellent listening skills, curiosity and empathy

Excellent writing and communication skills

Demonstrated record of close work with high-level talent and skilled production staff

An ability to articulate what makes stories, conversations and podcasts great

A drive to understand and an ability to articulate what listeners want, and then realize that in superbly produced audio

Superior planning ability as well as the ability to think strategically

Familiarity with ProTools, Megaphone and other professional audio tools strongly preferred

A bias towards action
