SOCIAL MEDIA PRODUCER & COMMUNITY MANAGER
A project or contract Social Media Manager position
Fully remote: working with a USA-based team at APM Studios.
Salary range: $35.00 to $0.00 (hourly rate) - subject to experience
Position Summary: Are you a pro at taking on social projects from conception to execution? Do you love connecting and engaging with audiences? Do you stay ahead of the curve on social marketing best practices and doing it all from home? If so, we’ve got a part time, 6-month job for you! APM Studios is looking for a social media producer and community manager for several of our shows. Our company is distributed across the U.S. and we welcome remote applicants.
The podcasts you would work on deal with poetry and literature as well as international culture and culinary arts and other possible topics, so a background in liberal arts is helpful.
We’re looking for someone who can help us grow and reach more people by conceiving of, writing, producing and executing engaging content across platforms. You must have superb social copywriting and copy editing skills. You’ll package our podcast content in a dynamic way across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and emerging social platforms. You have strong instincts for content that social audiences find engaging. And you have demonstrated success creating engaging campaigns and social posts. This position strategizes and implements efforts that result in better service to our audience through our own and operated channels including social media, websites, newsletters, etc.
The social media producer & community manager works closely with the show and marketing teams and reports to the Audience Engagement Lead.
Pay is commensurate with experience.
Position Responsibilities:
- Writes, edits. Copy edits, and publishes unique digital content for our podcasts that enhances and augments each show’s community.
- Selects photos and videos and creates graphics (via Canva) for stories and social media posts.
- Helps coordinate acquisition of content, images and permissions from poets/authors and publishers.
- Develops and plans for digital campaigns which would grow the community and deepen engagement.
- Helps to establish workflow and production routines.
- Supports online production through research, writing, and editing.
- Posts audio, video, photos and collects other assets for multimedia elements.
- Identifies and reports production problems and assists with solutions.
- Checks work for accuracy, browser and platform compatibility.
- Edits, proofreads, and writes incidental copy as necessary or assigned.
- Interacts and responds with our communities on all owned and operated channels.
- Contributes to building weekly newsletters.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Deep interest in podcasts and audio storytelling
- Embraces social data and isn’t afraid to use it to optimize campaigns
- Must have superb social copywriting & fact-checking skills
- Proficient in Canva, Photoshop and editing software
- Proficient in Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook (TikTok is a plus!)
- A team player who is accountable, proactive, and solution-oriented
- Have strong instincts for content that social audiences find engaging
- Demonstrated success creating engaging campaigns and social posts
- Creative thinker and idea generator
- Knowledge of social media listening
- Ability to translate the voice of each show to social media
- Independent, resourceful, takes initiative and has excellent judgment
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Ability to successfully meet deadlines and handle multiple responsibilities under pressure on a consistent basis.
- Superior communication, organizational and collaborative skills
- Familiarity with content management systems
- Mature self-starter with excellent editorial judgement
- Excellent language skills including writing, proofreading; fluent computer skills.
- Aware of web and social media best practices.
- Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently with limited direct supervision.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues in multiple departments/divisions.
- Ability to work with changing deadlines and in a fast paced environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Strong interest in poetry and literature, as well as food and culinary culture.
- Ability to write compelling stories and incidental copy.
