Digital Production Assistant
A part time Audio Editor position at London Review of Books, London, UK

The London Review of Books is looking for a digital production assistant to join our lively editorial and production teams. You will help the editors to grow the paper’s digital audience, with a particular emphasis on audio engagement, as well as working on the website, videos and events programme. Responsibilities will include:
- Editing, processing and uploading podcasts/other audio and video, and working with our audio partners as necessary
- Importing pieces from the new issue into the website content management system and publishing it on the LRB website, Kindle and app
- Providing occasional additional digital support for the bookshop events programme
- Undertaking other digital projects as they arise
The role is three days per week (usually Monday to Wednesday), initially for six months. Our offices are in London, but we support flexible and hybrid working patterns where appropriate.

Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Experience of editing and working with audio
- A good working knowledge of relevant software (preferably Adobe Audition)
- Solid numeracy and literacy skills
- Confidence using web interfaces
Desirable:
- Experience of using content management systems
- Experience of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, particularly Audition and Photoshop
- Experience of working with imagery (scanning, photographing, editing)
- Experience of working in an office environment, ideally within publishing or the arts
- Video editing experience would be a distinct advantage
- Familiarity with the LRB website, pieces and audio output
The ideal candidate will also demonstrate:
- A forensic eye for detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Initiative, reliability, self-management
- Ability to stay calm under pressure
- Ability to work in an ordered way
- A strong interest in literary journalism and book publishing
