The Webby Awards — presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), the leading international organization honoring excellence on the Internet — today named the winners in their 26th annual awards.

2022 Webby Award winners include “Song Exploder” from host and creator Hrishikesh Hirway, a podcast part of the Radiotopia podcast network from PRX. The show was awarded as the Webby Winner in the music podcast category, honoring the best series devoted to discussing music and music culture, as well as the Webby Winner in the arts & culture category for the show’s special posthumous episode featuring John Lennon of The Beatles. The “John Lennon — God” episode of “Song Exploder,” about the making of the song “God” from Lennon’s first solo album, was also awarded for podcasting in the featured guest category, both as a Webby Winner and a People’s Voice winner, and was an honoree for best individual episode.

Multiple podcasts distributed by public media organization and leading audio publisher PRX were also among the 2022 Webby Awards honorees and nominees across podcasting categories, including “In the Thick” from Futuro Studios for news & politics, “Passenger List” from Goldhawk Productions and Radiotopia for scripted fiction, “Forever Is A Long Time” from Ian Coss for limited series, “How God Works with David Desteno” for science & education, “MASTERPIECE Studio” from GBH for entertainment, “The Science of Happiness” from the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley in health, science, and education, and several shows from TED in science, education, and host categories, including “Design Matters with Debbie Millman” and “Am I Normal?
