Nova Entertainment makes senior commercial and podcasting appointments

Nova Entertainment has made several leadership appointments across its Melbourne team, with changes across the Agency Sales, Create and Digital Audio functions.

Amanda Holenstein, who has been with Nova since 2016, becomes head of agency in Melbourne, and will now be responsible for coaching and developing the commercial team.

Holenstein was most recently development manager and group sales manager, and brings 16 years of experience including senior management roles in publishing and a stint at ARN. The head of agency job had previously been an interim role.

Nova Entertainment has also named a head of Create in Melbourne, with Brooke Dul taking on the role after returning to Nova in 2017. Dul will guide the Create team to deliver revenue goals and performance metrics across Create’s campaign function.

She has held roles across digital, campaign delivery, client solutions and project management, and had a previous stint with Nova from 2009 to 2014 before spending time with Southern Cross Austereo and L’Oreal.

The Create team has been restructured as a result of maternity leave and some changes to key roles.

Nova has also made changes within its growing podcasting team, appointing Steph Freeland-Small as head of digital audio commercial for Melbourne, and promoting Liz Maplestone to head of digital audio commercial for the Adelaide, Perth and International markets.

Freeland-Small replaces Ben McMillan, while Maplestone’s role is new within the business.

The pair will work closely with Nova’s digital and commercial teams to grow Nova’s market presence and drive commercialisation of the business’ digital audio assets within the Nova Entertainment Podcast Network (NEPN), as well as new digital streaming environments.

Nova Entertainment’s Melbourne commercial director and market lead, Andrew Will, said: “We are extremely proud of the quality of people within the Melbourne office and the elevations of Amanda, Steph, Liz and Brooke into key commercial leadership positions is testament to themselves and the learning and development environment we nurture at Nova Entertainment.”
